Nowadays, inequality in all ways is everywhere, there are places with all the technology possible and, there some, places where people still fight, and die from starvation. How is all that technology useful to them if they do not even know how to read? My dad says that knowledge is power, but I ask myself, what about people with no education?

Education is a basic human right since long time ago, and there a lot of places where the percentage of illiteracy is around 50% or even more. African countries like Morocco, and Mauritania as well as Asian countries like Afghanistan and Pakistan share these statistics. I cannot imagine the situation of those countries, since here in Mexico we have 8.4%, of illiteracy and this phenomenon takes place either in extremely poor communities as well as main cities having a lot percentage of Mexican citizens out of highly paid job opportunities and doomed to society’s rejection.

Knowing all these numbers and world common issues, we can notice how important education and thus school preparation is. Nowadays, there are people who are still unaware of their rights for education and families turn to be endless human chains of ignorance due to the lack of basic school education either in towns or large cities. It is so sad to me to watch kids on the corner of streets begging for money and wearing clown makeup in order to get as many coins as possible the red light of the traffic lights allows them to.

I know I am lucky to be one of the literate Mexican generation and my dream is to get all people, children and adults who in the past did not have the opportunities we are offered today as students not only by our nation but by other nations who happily exhort us to be better, because they think everything is achievable as long as we really want it, people who share the idea that preparation is the path to success, and effort, its key. That is my ideal school, a school for everybody, everywhere which challenges us and motivates us to become the best we could ever dream about.
