I guess there aren’t so many of you, who can say exactly what they would like to do after school. If you are still in high school it is very hard to imagine that one day you will have to work and everything after graduation seems unreal. But if you are forced to look into the future you might become a little bit frightened and you are not even sure what you want to do. At least this is the way I feel about it.

After school I would like to go to a university, but a student´ s life is very expensive: you don’t earn your own money until you are over 20 and your parents have to pay a lot for the university, your flat and so on. It ´s getting more and more important to spend at least one semester during your studies abroad or to do many internships. A year abroad is also very expensive and you often don’t get the chance to take part in internships. That’s why the dual study system, in which you study and get practical experience at the same time, seems to be a quite good solution.
Since the job situation isn’t the best at the moment, it isn’t certain that you will get the job you have studied for. Everybody has to be very flexible today, not only with the choice of your job, but you always have to be ready to move to another region or even another country. Everything is becoming international.

I don’t know where I will be in 15 years, but I think I want to study. Perhaps I will be working in a business with international connections, which could give me the possibility to travel and see the world, of which I have always been dreaming. But who doesn’t dream of this? In the next years languages will become even more important than now and you will always have to keep on learning.
In 15 years I will be 31 and I don’t know if I will already have my own family. Perhaps I will be married but I would wait with children, because I want to live my own life before I live for them.
I hope that I will have made a lot of experiences and be happy with what I have already reached but never stop dreaming of new chances; and that if they come I will be brave enough to take them.

I think that in a world that is only becoming faster and faster it is very important to have something on which you can hold on. Work can never replace friends and family and this is why I would try to stay in contact with my family and my old friends. I don’t want to have a hundred people you call your friends, but who never want to see you crying. Instead of this I would concentrate on a few friends you can really rely on. I think trust is a very big issue in life, because if you have somebody who is always there for you, no matter what has happened, you can feel a lot safer.
Another very important value in life for me is love. You need to believe in love to be happy. I don’t know if I will be in a relationship or a single 15 years from now, but either way I will try to make the best of it.
As the world is moving closer together you can’t ignore the rest of the world or close your eyes when faced with uncomfortable truth. Truth is also something of which you can never have enough and it starts with being true to yourself. You always have to change to be in charge of your live but I hope I will still be the same person I am now. In my opinion one of the most difficult things in life is to go on without losing yourself.

After all these thoughts about my future I still don’t know where I will be or who I´ll be in 15 years, but I will try to see all the positive sides of life and give my best. I guess if we are all trying to make the best of our lives, the future will be just great.
